Kagamin

Yesterday (Saturday the 18th of July 2020) I got another figure. This simple statement, by itself, is not very unique. Every day dozens of people receive their hard earned, lovely figurines from the holy nation, Japan. And even just for me it is not unique, as I receive packages with deliciously sweet content at least once a month.

But yesterday (Saturday the 18th of July 2020) was different. Somewhat. Because I received a figure of a character who is very close to my heart, and who I had waited for with baited breath ever since I ordered her.

I’m talking of course about Kagami Hiiragi, or Kagamin, from Lucky Star.

Now, I have only watched Lucky Star very recently. Somehow it escaped me all these years, despite it being the perfect series for me. Alas, when I finally watched it, I was won over within minutes, and I binged it in a weekend.

Kagamin very quickly earned my love, and the minute I saw a post on My Figure Collection someone had done about her, I needed to get her. Luckily, the good folks at Solaris Japan were happy to help ’cause they had her in stock, brand new (giving the age of the anime, the figure is quite old).

It took roughly three weeks to arrive at my doorstep. I won’t say how much it cost, but it was a lot. And worth every single cent!

January Order @ Hobby Search or How I stopped worrying and love the credit card.

As you can see from the above table I did preorder an awful amount of figures (for someone with my income) for January 2020. To be fair, honest and in my defense, some of these were originally meant to be released in November and December of 2019, respectively, but were delayed 1 and 2 months.

I love all of these. Especially the baseball girl, yakyuu musume. Love her. Utsugi is also great. Rikka is just being Rikka. I haven’t seen Food Wars yet.

Maybe given that the original release date for all these figures was in December actually I should change the post name but they were charged and got shipped in January, so. Don’t hold it against me.
