New process

1. Backup Blu-ray and DVD discs to digital storage.
1.1 DVD will be saved as ISO files
1.2 Blu-ray will be saved as their unencrypted directories
2. Extract just the movie file and all its tracks.
3. Encode the movie in HEVC.¹
4. Put Blu-ray/DVD backup and extracted movie on cold storage, upload encode to private streaming.

¹Encoding:
ffmpeg -hide_banner -hwaccel cuda -i "$MOVIE" -map 0 -c:v hevc_nvenc -c:a copy -c:s copy "$HOME/$MOVIE"

Movie (theatre) guy

The WordPress classic editor really doesn’t like the British spelling of “theatre”. Or maybe that’s my Firefox.
Anyway, I’m a movie guy now. I’ve been more times to the theatre this year than ever before. And this will continue, I have already decided.
I just need a good way to keep my tickets.

Christmas

I haven’t watched Die Hard yet. I am disappointed in myself. But in fairness I’m with family and was unable to convince them that this would be the correct thing to do.
I did bring about 3kg of cooked rice, though, that was nice, very nice.
The other food was fine, too.
Can’t really complain much.

I have a terrible phase again.

I purchases my last figure, metaphorically.

I made a really dumb decision and bought a figure for 1600 euro (incl. shipping, but excl. taxes).

It is a figure I already own, but my current one is broken because I am an idiot.

I achieved this order by signing up for PayPal Credit, and now having to pay it back for 24 months.

This is not my last figure, actually. Only spiritually. I still have open preorders, but my spirit is broken.

I wish I was a minimalist

I own too many things. This has really bitten me in the ass in the past. I wish I had the willpower to sell nearly all of it. Not only would I finally have some money again, but also my apartment would not be so cluttered.
