Kagamin

Yesterday (Saturday the 18th of July 2020) I got another figure. This simple statement, by itself, is not very unique. Every day dozens of people receive their hard earned, lovely figurines from the holy nation, Japan. And even just for me it is not unique, as I receive packages with deliciously sweet content at least once a month.

But yesterday (Saturday the 18th of July 2020) was different. Somewhat. Because I received a figure of a character who is very close to my heart, and who I had waited for with baited breath ever since I ordered her.

I’m talking of course about Kagami Hiiragi, or Kagamin, from Lucky Star.

Now, I have only watched Lucky Star very recently. Somehow it escaped me all these years, despite it being the perfect series for me. Alas, when I finally watched it, I was won over within minutes, and I binged it in a weekend.

Kagamin very quickly earned my love, and the minute I saw a post on My Figure Collection someone had done about her, I needed to get her. Luckily, the good folks at Solaris Japan were happy to help ’cause they had her in stock, brand new (giving the age of the anime, the figure is quite old).

It took roughly three weeks to arrive at my doorstep. I won’t say how much it cost, but it was a lot. And worth every single cent!

Buyfaggotry is me again

These past two weeks I’ve been racking up preorders faster than ever before. I’m finally in my element again. And I don’t care if people call it “plastic crap”, to me these are the most beautiful things in the whole wide world.

Sidenote: I will need much more storage space than I currently have, but that’s been a problem since 2016. Nothing that ever stopped me.

Food Blogging Again: Flour Dumplings and Fried Potatoes and Applesauce

Ingredients:
– ~250g flour
– 2 eggs
– 150ml (sparkling) water
– a sprinkle of salt
> potatoes
> salt, pepper, sweet paprika
> oil

How-to Cook:
1. Mix the eggs, flour and water until it’s fluid but not too fluid anymore. Like, tough creamy batter. I don’t know how to describe it.
2. Add a little tiny bit of salt.
3. Put water in a pot, heat it up until it’s boiling, add salt to the water (not much) and then a spoonful of batter into the water until no batter is left.
4. Keep it in there for like 10 minutes or something.

I. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes. (3-4 potatoes if you got big ones, 6-7 if you got small ones)
II. Put the potatoes into water to get the starch out. I don’t know how that get’s it out, but apparently that it’s frying capability. Or something.
III. Put oil in a big frying pan and heat it up.
IV. When it’s ready add the potatoes and then wait. Occasionally stir it around so they get fried from all sides. I think I had them in for like 15 minutes.
V. Add a little bit of salt, pepper and sweet paprika once it’s done.

How-to Serve:
Put potatoes on the left side of your plate, flour dumplings on the right side of your plate, and the applesauce between and on the top of the plate (like, if you hold the plate, put it on the side that’s furthest away from you).
Enjoy!
